Lenny Harris Plans To Go To The Plate Hacking
More discussion of how bad Lenny Harris is, because, really, it never gets old:
Lenny Harris thinks that part of the reason for his slump this year is that he is taking too many pitches. Here’s his solution, according to the Sun-Times:
“Anything close I’m swinging. That’s the mentality I’m going to carry up there now.”
Harris’s FoxSports.com page currently has this fantasy blurb about him:
Jun 05 2003 - Batting leadoff for the first time since April 2001, Lenny Harris went 1-for-5 today. The hit was the 1,000th of his career. At current pace, Harris will get hit No. 3,000 in 2035. Harris is hitting .203 with three extra-base hits in 74 at-bats this season. At this point, the majority of players in Triple-A would be better bench options than he is.
Finally, Harris is on pace to do something this year that only Donnie Sadler and Brandon Inge have managed to do over the past two seasons: Have over 200 plate appearances with an OPS below 460.
